Knitted gifts

Now that January has got into its stride, here's a look at gifts I made for Christmas.

Mitts_for_Liz1

Mitts_for_Liz2

Fingerless mittens for Liz in hand dyed high twist merino; my own design using a stitch pattern from a Japanese stitch dictionary.

Shawl_Kris2011

Shawl_Kris's_mum2011

Elise shawls for Kris and her mum in hand dyed BFL sock.

Crochet_scarf_Julie_2011

Long crochet scarf with fringe for Julie; my own design in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.

On the what's-on-the-needles-now front, not much. Huldran is progressing slowly (lovely, lovely Wollmeise) and there are a couple of pairs of plain vanilla socks on the go. I think I'd better go cast something else on!

Comments

The scarf is absolutely soft and beautiful.

Love how that blue Elise dyed up.

Beautiful gifts - were do you get a Japanese stitch dictionary? I really like the fingerless mitts.

Laura, I buy Japanese books here:

Megumi also sells on Etsy:

I hate it when I misspell words! *were* should be where!!!
Thanks for the links - what a treasure trove of books and ideas!
My goal this year is to use up my stash, but I am always looking for new ideas & patterns! That is why I love your books - so many ideas!
Thanks again:)
